What we’re about
Go (also known as weiqi) is a strategy board game that has been played for thousands of years. This game has very few rules that elegantly support a highly complex play, in which decision-making depends on strategic balancing across the board. As such, this game is often viewed as a metaphor of life. In combinatorial game theory terms, Go is a zero-sum, perfect-information, partisan, deterministic strategy game.
The Davis Sacramento Go Club is affiliated with the American Go Association. This club has been active since 1985. Most players are between 1 dan and 7 kyu. Tournaments are held once a quarter.
