This hike is posted as rain or shine. However we will watch the weather forecast as we get closer to that day. If it looks like it will be a total washout, the hike itself may be canceled, however the cookie swap WILL go on as planned under the dry pavilion. We hope to see you all there regardless. Details of the Cookie Hike:

It's that time of year again!! Our annual cookie swap/hike at Boyds!

A Sunday hike at Boyd Big Tree Nature Preserve. Two hikes (or possibly three if enough hikers and hike leaders turn out) to choose from!

Length: 5 miles total for brisk group

3.5 - 4 miles for moderate pace group.

2.5 miles for leisure pace group, if needed/desired.

Configuration: Loop

Pace: Brisk, Moderate, Leisure (if needed/desired)

Terrain: Moderate

We will combine a bunch of trails at Boyd's to make a nice 4-5 mile loop. Beware: there is a hill in the beginning of our planned hike. Please don't let this discourage you as we will be hiking at a moderate pace. Everyone will have a map of the park in case a group of you fall behind. But I don't anticipate that happening. If there is a group that just wants to leisurely hike around the trails at Boyd's, we may be able to work that out as well. With a map, all things are possible! The main point of this hike is the cookie exchange...so don't let the change in hike location discourage you!

The best part is that Boyd's has a very nice pavilion for us to lay out the spread of cookies and this can happen rain, snow or shine!!! No problem if we are under the pavilion!

Bring cookies to trade/share after we work up an appetite hiking. Be creative, dust off those cookbooks and find those traditional family recipes and bake your all-time favorites to impress everyone! Cookies, cakes, pies, brownies- oh my!

This is a dog-friendly hike but pets MUST be leashed (and they must bring their own cookies).
