**All welcome**! If you are looking to make up Hike No. 20 in Dennis Hurley's PA AT section hike series, this is it! A 2.1 mph pace including breaks, intended for **experienced** **hikers**. We will shuttle to Hawk Mountain Road AT parking and hike 11.5 miles north on the AT. There is a 1,000-foot climb in the beginning of this hike. Hikers should do this climb at a comfortable pace – we will wait for everyone at the top of each climb. We will take a lunch break somewhere between Dan’s Pulpit (2.9 miles), Balanced Rocks Vista (5.0 miles) and the Allentown Shelter (7.3 miles). This hike is at an intermediate pace. Please stay behind the hike leader and in front of the sweep to enable the group to stay together.
**Length:** 11.5 miles
**Pace:** Moderate (2.1 mph including breaks)
**Terrain:** Moderate, the usual ubiquitous PA rocks along our route
**Elevation:** Net = 600 feet; major climbs of 1,000 feet, multiple ups and downs
**Qualifications:** All hikers must be members of Day Hikers of Central PA
**Amenities:** Ample parking at our meetup site
**MEET:** AT parking at Rte. 309 gravel parking lot. Use the coordinates. This location is across the street from the prior location that is now under new management.
