A Fully Escorted 4 day & 3 Night Tour limited to 10 passengers
Day 1: Depart 8: am from Group’s location (Italian American Club, and 8:30am Walmart Palm Bay Road with short shopping stops along the way or way back, Lunch is at Schnebly Redlands Winery and Brewery. This Enchanting Florida Winery is a tropical paradise with its exotic wines and waterfalls. Robert is here is the name of a major large fruit stand in the Nursery area of Homestead, Redland and Florida City. We will drive directly through the River of Grass known as the Everglades with its’ fierce Melaleucas along the way. Drive along the Overseas Highway with the Atlantic Ocean on your left and the Gulf of Mexico on your right. Here you will learn about the history and importance of the Ecosystem, and every island over 42 bridges. Make sure you bring your camera for the scenic picture stop at Channel # 5 overlooking the bridge.
Everglades National Park Welcome Center and Overlook. (Either on route or on return) . A stop to see the Boat that Heminway used to travel to Cuba is on our route to check out.
Dinner on route overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. This evening we check into the 3 Diamond Best Western Hibiscus one block from Duval Street. Our dinners in the Keys include the great dining at the Half Shell Raw Bar known for outstanding Crab Cakes. The ambiance here includes the Historic Seaport with all of the sailboats including the booze cruise, America’s Cup vessels, Fast Cat and the tall Schooner Masts.
Day 2: Today enjoy a fully narrated trolley ride including all of Key West’s major sights with a choice of a guided tour of Hemingway House or the new Butterfly and Nature Conservatory or Truman House or Audubon House and Gardens or Mel Fishers Treasure Museum. Browsing time will be allotted on Duval Street. The trolley picks up near the Hotel. Or an optional tour to Fort Jefferson on the Dry Tortugas by Fast Cat Catamaran with transfers included from the hotel in lieu of trolley tickets.
Day 3: After Breakfast we will visit and do a driving and walking tour of Hemingway hang outs including Bahama Village. A visit to the Key west Gardens and an artist’s studio plus the USCGC Ingham Memorial Ship Museum. There will be an optional Lunch trip to World Famous Blue Heaven known for many things but also a giant slice of authentic Key Lime Pie.
After an afternoon at leisure at the hotel’s tropical pool and bar we will view the famous sunset at Mallory Square.
Day 4: After breakfast a visit to sites in Marathon after the Key Dear Sanctuary. On the route home a stop at a Marina will be made for an interactive experience feeding the largest Tarpons you will ever see. Early Dinner at the Cauley Square Tea Room depending on time of the day.
