After our late morning arrival in the center of Historic Saint Augustine, our nation’s oldest city, we will stop at the welcome center which unravels the progression of Florida’s history with a timeline of the city and here you can pick up a map of the town to follow along with during the tour. Next, we will visit Flagler’s White Marble Crypt at the church he built in a year housing high ceiling as in European Cathedrals and the largest pipe organ in the Southeast. After lunch, Step inside and step back in time! A tour of the Old Town and the Tiffany Windows and the Lightner Museum will help us to re-live the history of this beautiful city. The Lightner Museum is called the collection of collections. See shrunken heads, Victorian furniture, a Mummy, Marble Carvings and a fabulous Music Room. Our driving city tour also includes a visit and samples from the Saint Sebastian Winery optional stop for those interested in it or extra shopping time. We will have time to stroll the Downtown area with its’ more than 80 shops along cobbled lanes shaded by moss-draped oaks. Scattered throughout blocks of historic landmarks, you may discover eclectic offerings from specialty gifts such as handmade candles, woven goods and wood crafts, to clothing and more.
