There have been times when we have seen 180 Manatees and some brand new babies at this jungle like setting. The Captain Thursby House is an example of a Pioneer Home of a St. John’s Riverboat Captain. The Park Rangers talk about the Manatees and their relationship to the land based elephant and the temperatures they need to survive or an outdoor informative Video is shown. The Manatee overlook extends along a short wooden boardwalk trail around one side of the Perimeter of the site.
