C2O 4 H2O Annual Walk for Water

Details

An event offered by the Little Miami Watershed Network.
6 miles or less (one way).

Join us as we walk from Corwin to Oregonia along the Scenic Little Miami bike path. This annual event is in honor of National Take a Hike Day and serves as a fall fundraiser for the Little Miami Watershed Network. A great way to get together with a group to enjoy all of the wonders of the Fall season in Ohio! Before we begin the walk we will have a quick stretching session with yoga instructor Buck Niehoff, then members of ODNR and LMWN will lead discussions as we follow the Little Miami Scenic Trail down a six mile stretch marked with QR codes that give oral history and science lessons on the areas we are walking through. When we reach our destination in Oregonia we will have refreshments as we reflect on our time together.

Registration and donation requested: https://lmwn.org/event/c2o-4-h2o/

The walk is 6 miles one way, We have arranged for cars to help get people off the trail at mile markers as people request for shorter distances. We are going to ask participants that are with friends to park one car in Corwin and their other car at Oregonia so that they can ride back to their cars. Oregonia's parking lot is along the bike trail in front of the River House B&B, located on Corwin Road between the bike trail and the river as you pass the Little River Cafe.

We will be at a leisurely pace of 2 hours, there are places on the trail that will feature "oral history" and are prompted by QR codes so if people want to be at a faster pace than the group they could use those to guide them, the only downside is they won't be with the group which will include people like; Hope, ODNR staff or naturalist that will be on hand to answer questions with the group that takes about 2 hours. Buck (the yoga instructor) will start us out with some stretching, then head down the trail. He plans to walk it in about 1.5 hours and lead the fast group.

This is that this is a fundraiser for LMWN so there is registration so that we can collect a donation. We have also been given a few donations specifically to provide refreshments/ food at the end at Oregonia (there is a park shelter there).
