Christmas Hike #2: Suburban Christmas Light Night Hike πŸŒ²πŸŽ…
4 Miles - Moderate
No Pets. One guests permitted.

Let's celebrate the holidays with a four-mile walk through Kettering and Oakwood to admire THREE amazing Christmas light displays.

We will wind our way down Lincoln Park Boulevard and admire Christmas lights on our way to our first stop.

Stop 1: Devon Avenue. We will visit a highly decorated house to listen to 13-year-old Lucas Copeland play the saxophone in front of his family’s Christmas display. This 7th grader is playing the saxophone to raise money for the Adopt-a-Family and backpack programs at Kettering City Schools. Please consider making a donation to his cause on this hike.

Next we will venture northward to Oakwood to admire even more Christmas lights on our way to our second stop.

Stop 2: Holiday Lights On Wonderly. Arguably the most elaborately decorated home in south Dayton, the folks at Holiday Lights On Wonderly go all out at Christmas time with an amazing light display that you will not want to miss. If we are lucky, we may see Santa Claus. This house is famous as the Grinch (Oakwood police) wrote tickets twice last year to the owners of this house for having such an incredible Christmas light display.

Next, we venture back to Kettering for our final stop.

Stop 3: Lincoln Park & Fraze Pavilion: The City of Kettering has one of the most beautiful city light displays in the Miami Valley. We will take a leisurely stroll down the Lincoln Park paths and see a great local light display, where we will return to our cars.

Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes for walking on hard surfaces. Bring a headlamp or flashlight.

Use Google Maps. Do not use Apple Maps.
