What we’re about
About Us: We are a group of underwater hockey players in the Northern Virginia / DC / Maryland area. We get together to play underwater hockey, make new friends, stay in shape, and hangout. Right now we have one practice session a week on Thursdays, but if we can get more people we would love to expand to two days a week.
Who should join: If you love swimming, snorkeling, or team sports you should come join us!
Dues and fees: For new people trying out the sport or the club, the first practice is free. After that there is a yearly $30 registration fee to the national underwater hockey organization, which pays for insurance. Then we have local club fees that pay for our pool time and shared replacement gear. There is a 'pay as you go' option of $10 per practice. Or a yearly option of $355.
Affiliations: We are affiliated with the Underwater Society of America, and Capital Region Underwater Hockey. Both are non-profits.

Underwater hockey practice at the Minnie Howard Aquatics Facility on Monday, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
In partnership with the City of Alexandria, we are bringing underwater hockey to our community! Participants will need to pay a daily admission fee or become members of the city’s recreation centers.
The pool is 25 meters with a depth ranging from 3.5ft to 12ft, perfect for our practices. You can find more details about the facility here.
### Additional Swimming Opportunities
Since you’ll be paying for a daily pass, you’re welcome to swim before our practice. My goal is to form a dedicated group that swims an hour (for now we will start with 30 mins) before practice and meets up during the week for extra swims. We currently have 4 lanes, and if our group grows, we can request more. The City will evaluate our program every six months, so it’s essential to have consistent participation.### Practice Details
- Practice Day: Mondays
- Warm-Up: 7:00 - 7:30 PM (swimming and maneuvering)
- Individual Skills: 7:30 - 7:45 PM (stick skills)
- Tactics: 7:45 - 8:00 PM (small formation tactics)
- Game Play: 8:00 - 8:30 PM (modified game)
This practice is designed for team-oriented skill-building and will focus on the basics of underwater hockey.

- Child (0-4): Free (Resident) / $2 (Non-resident)
- Youth (5-17): $6 (Resident) / $7 (Non-resident)
- Adult (18+): $9 (Resident) / $12 (Non-resident)
- Senior (60+): $7.20 (Resident) / $12 (Non-resident)
- Adult Chaperone with Youth (not participating): $1 (Resident) / $4 (Non-resident)
