#### ALWAYS ALIVE
Length : 32 minutes
Director : Davina Montaz-Rosset
Original version#### For every person living in Chamonix, Mont-Blanc is an irresistible magnet. Known for her many achievements in trail-running, Hillary Gerardi is up for a high-altitude challenge: attempting a round-trip speed record on this iconic summit, starting from Chamonix’s Church. To achieve her goal, she will need to combine intense preparation with an in-depth knowledge of the terrain, which is constantly evolving due to climate change. A film that successfully blends environmental awareness and performance, delivering a burst of joy and emotion!
#### PAINTING THE MOUNTAINS
Length : 46 minutes
Director : Pierre Cadot
Original version#### Experience an amazing challenge : skiing down tiny patches of snow perched amongst the huge granite walls overlooking El Chaltèn. Guided by local photographer Matthew Tufts, Aurélien Lardy, Vivian Bruchez and Jules Socié only have one goal in mind: to push the limits of gravity to open news lines on these Patagonian giants. Combining commitment, friendships, and quite a few mates, this film will blow your mind. A kind of Free Solo on skis that you won’t forget anytime soon!
#### OF A LIFETIME
Length : 44 minutes
Director : Jérôme Tanon
Original version#### Within the De le Rue family, passion for freeriding is inherited from generation to generation. Almost turning 18 years old, the young Mila accompanied by her father Xavier and her uncle Victor (both three times freeride world champions) launches into her first expedition, to the magical land of Antarctica! After a long and stormy crossing in a sailboat, the crew reached the pure white continent, with its mountains of ice, its whales, its pinguins… If Xavier and Victor, more familiar with risk management, joyfully open amazing news lines, Mila will have to challenge her fears to fully embrace the adventure. A journey full of complicity, strengthening the trust between a dad and his daughter, and a skier to herself.
#### GROUND UP
Length : 36 minutes
Director : Chris Alstrin
Original version#### Let’s go for 8 days hanging in the middle of the mythical walls of Yosemite with Amity Warme and Brent Barghahn. Their goal : climbing Pineapple Express, a variation of El Niño’s route on El Capitan, starting from the bottom. This intense film allows us to feel the difficulty and the efforts needed to succeed in freeing such an extreme big wall. A mix of determination, perseverance, and a dazzling complicity give Amity and Brent the opportunity to surpass themselves both physically and mentally. An ode to climbing led by a fantastic duo!

It's a Meetup . . . in the Galápagos!!
This Meetup Event is for the nature lovers, for the curious explorers and the adventurers who want to experience nature in all its splendor & diversity.
The Galápagos Islands are a volcanic archipelago in the Pacific Ocean, considered one of the world's foremost destinations for wildlife-viewing. It's a place where lizards swim, birds walk, and humans — for once — don't take center stage. In 1835 a 26-year-old Charles Darwin introduced the Galápagos Islands to the world with his theory of evolution.
As amazing as you think the Galápagos Islands would be, they exceed all expectations of our group in 2023! That sea lion above in our group photo is not a prop! It was very real, ready to play and pose for a picture. You can see sea lions, giant lizards and many other exotic and friendly creatures, waddling on the streets, playing in the sand or just chilling (sun bathing) on a bench!
We will explore and experience:
- The famous Galapagos penguin and blue footed boobies. Swim with sea turtles and sea lions.
- Tortuga Bay Beach for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking or surfing with unique marine life.
- Get close and personal with the giant tortoises roaming in their natural habitat
- Explore the Tintoreras islet, home of the white tip sharks and its shark tunnel.
- Visit the Charles Darwin Station, to observe giant tortoises and their babies and learn about this majestic animal.
- Snorkeling around the shore of the Tijeretas Bay
- Boat ride to Kicker Rock with snorkeling
- Sailing to Santa Cruz Island.
- Sail to Isabela Island, the largest of the archipelago.
- Boat tour to Tuneles De Cabo Rosa, a formation of series of above ocean arches, creating an unique snorkeling experience.
- Explore cavernous underground Lava Tunnels.
- Tour the Galapagos rainforest habitat
- San Cristobal Island with visit to the Interpretation Center
- Visit to Los Gemelos, a haven for bird watchers!
- Visit Sierra Negra and Chico Volcano. A 10-mile challenging hike (for those who are interested)
- El Trapiche to see the old methods of extracting cane juice, roasting coffee beans and techniques of distillery.
- Quito with a full day tour and visit to the Equator line
- Visit to the town of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.
Land Tour cost $4565 per person, double occupancy
(we match roommates for those wishing to share)
Solo occupancy additional $990

- Everest Base Camp Trek, Discover the land & people. The challenge and adventure.Washington Dulles Int'l Airport (IAD), Washington, DC
Our group is DC Adventures . . . . EBC or Everest Base Camp Trek is def an adventure and more!!
This is bucket list type of trip. It embodies adventure and the romance of traveling to far off places. It is also tempered with safety and do-ability.
The actual dates are Apr 25-May 11, 2024 and the trip is 17 days/16 nights.
We have done this adventure twice already, in 2021 and 2022, and everybody had a blast! CLICK HERE to see attendee photos of the EBC trekWE HAVE MADE CHANGES BASED UPON EXPERIENCE.
- We are ADDING Yoga and Meditation, and a local expert TO BE WITH US to guide in Buddhist practice and local culture.
- We are ADDING two days while going up to better acclimatize.
- We are ADDING a HELLICOPTER FLIGHT from our highest camp back to start point AND REMOVING two days going down by taking the flight.
To clarify. We are NOT going up to the top of Everest (29,000’)
We are going to Everest Base Camp at 17,600’
Our starting elevation will be in Lukla at 9,400’You need to be of average or better fitness. If you can manage walking 3-6 hours a day, up and down a hill while carrying a light daypack, you will be OK! If you are very fit and work out and train, you will be at the front.
Professional guides to lead, and Yaks to carry our gear are included. And a Yak Herder too!!
All that is left for us to carry is our water, snacks and camera.
But I don't have the needed gear?!
Sleeping bag and parka, rated to -10C are provided and walking poles too!Does this include food?
All meals on the trek potion are included. What is lodging like?
We are sleeping in a series of "Tea Houses" along the route. You will have a bed in a shared room with roommate (from the group). Sorry, a solo room will not be available on this trip. We will pair up everybody. How dangerous is this? What if I get sick or hurt?
This is NOT the summiting Everest with people dying from bad choices. We will be walking on an established, well used trail the entire time, and NOT on snow or ice. Stats from past years show that 30,000 people a year do the EBC Trek. With all that said, . . . our trip INCLUDES emergency insurance. We are also Certified Wilderness First Responders.
Plain and simple, safety is our primary goal. We will have an experienced guide and porters, and we will be along the entire way.How much does this cost?
Everest Base Camp Trip $3750 - 17 Days, land only (airfare not included)
For this trip we don’t offer single occupancy and we match you with a roommate if you don't have one.We might be able to organize a group airfare from Los Angeles (LAX):**

Discover the awe-inspiring journey to Machu Picchu with our three distinct options, each offering its own charm and adventure. As a Meetup, we travel as a group and still are able to tailor your Machu Picchu adventure according to your preferences and interests.
This event is for the hikers and trekkers, interested in The Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu. This is a 4-Day hike on the ancient and remote footpath located in the same region as the Inca Trail where massive snow-capped mountains collide with lush tropical rainforests. It is less travelled than the Inca Trail, with breathtaking vistas! Considered by many the better alternate to get to Machu Picchu. It is also not that heavily regulated with government taxes and fees. Hence, the good price!
The Inca Trail is the "tourist" route. We are doing the 1-day hike, which is the second half of the classic Inca Trek and a full day at Machu Picchu. It is shorter and less difficult than the Salkantay. The views are stunning - mostly rainforest canopy and ancient historic sights. Those who are interested in this way to reach Machu Picchu, CLICK HERE to find the event.
The Train is just as it sounds. No long hike. Travel by rail and with less effort. This is intended for people with less mobility or those who wish to glamp it a bit. They will be traveling with the Inca Trail group, but instead of hiking for one full day, can opt for the convenience of the train ride. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO
