**Date**: Saturday December 14th
**Meeting Time**: 9:30 AM
**Location**: Crabtree Falls Trailhead, Virginia (about 2 hours from Richmond)
**Distance**: \~3.6 miles round trip
**Difficulty**: Moderately Strenuous (It's about 1.7 mile uphill to the top, then we retrace our steps down)
**Other**: Bring $3 cash to pay the [day-use fee](https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/gwj/recarea/?recid=73667)

We’ll hike alongside Crabtree Falls, one of the most stunning waterfalls in the region, with plenty of scenic viewpoints to stop, catch our breath, and take in the views. It’s a moderate hike with steps and steep spots, but the waterfall will be alongside us most of the hike and it's nothing we can’t handle! Once we reach the top, we’ll relax, take photos, and enjoy a light snack.

After the hike, we’ll head to **[Lovingston Winery](https://www.lovingstonwinery.com)** (885 Freshwater Cove Ln.
Lovingston, VA 22949) for lunch (they have pizza or bring your own lunch).

This is going to be a laid-back and fun day outdoors, with great company and a beautiful trail. We'll take our time getting to the top! Whether you're here for the hike, the views, or the wine, it's sure to be a fantastic time.
