Holiday Lights in Historic Norcross

Details

Let's meet in charming Norcross as holiday lights will start to shine. There is a historic train depot, plus City Hall and businesses as well as trees wrapped with lights at Lillian Webb Park and at Thrasher Park nearby. (Sunset will be at 5:30 PM.)

Distance: Downtown Norcross is 17 miles from Decatur.

For something different in holiday light photos, you can experiment with "Intentional Camera Movement." We have all seen photos of light trails caused by moving vehicles or rotating carnival rides. With "Intentional Camera Movement," you create the trails by moving the camera during an exposure of 1/10th to 1 full second. Suggested ISO of 100 (low, since we are photographing the light source and want a dark background) and F/8.

A tripod is good for moving the camera in one direction, or for zooming during a long exposure.
