Tyler State Park Hike (Difficult)
Details
I never get tired of hiking Tyler State Park. There's always something new to discover. This Hike will Start an End at the Tyler State Park Covered Bridge Parking Lot. Putting COVERED BRIDGE PARKING LOT NEWTOWN, PA into your GPS should bring you right to it. Or just use the pin. The entrance is pictured in the featured photo. There is a restroom and places to rest along the way. It is a 5 mile hike down a horse path, over a covered bridge, through the woods, down a paved path, across grassy open fields, along a crushed gravel path, next to a mountain stream, up a rock staircase and down to the damn. Then will follow a trail along Neshaminy creek back to our starting point. It is a vigorous trail with multiple elevation changes. This path will be muddy in spots. I find good hiking boots and a walking stick to be very useful. This is a rolling hill hike with some steep embankments. Besides the beautiful scenery, spotting deer, red fox and people on horseback is common. We'll also leave a painted Rock or 2 with an inspirational saying to mark our presence. Bring water and maybe a protein bar. Expect a good workout. However, we will hike a moderate pace (2mph) taking our time and stopping when needed. It's not a race, but rather an enjoyable hike. I've added pictures to give you a feel for the trail. Hope you can make it. Contact # 609-540-2513 Paul
