Let Us Connect: Online Space for Sharing and Understanding Social Anxiety
Details
Join us for a supportive and empowering online gathering tailored specifically for individuals navigating the challenges of social anxiety.
Step into a safe space where you can openly share your personal journey, from the hurdles you've faced to the strategies you've employed to overcome them. Together, we'll explore a variety of tools and techniques aimed at managing social anxiety, all while fostering a sense of community and understanding. Gain invaluable insights from fellow participants as they generously offer their own experiences and coping mechanisms. Let's embark on this journey of growth and healing together, one shared story at a time.
Meeting Guidelines:
-
Membership is free and open to all. The only requirement for membership is the desire to recover from social anxiety and the willingness to work on it. Age, gender, location, background etc. are no bar. However, please note the languages spoken are Hindi and English. The physical meetings are currently only held in Delhi, but weekly online meetings can be attended irrespective of location.
-
We encourage regular attendance in meetings and active engagement with the group.
-
If you don't want to be invited to speak unless you initiate it, please text ‘only listening’ in front of your name in the online meetings.
-
Confidentiality and anonymity are to be maintained. What is said here, stays here. Please use only your first name in the group. There is no compulsion to share any specific identifying details such as address, school or colleges attended, full name, social media handles etc.
-
Listen without interrupting. Please refrain from ‘cross talk’– which is engaging in back and forth conversation, or commenting directly on another persons’ share. Avoid personal or side conversations during meetings.
-
Please don't engage in spam/ discussions/ content unrelated to social anxiety.
-
Please don't promote any specific medical person, medicine, or therapy.
-
If sharing factual scientific information (instead of those based on experience) please try to cite the source.
-
Respect one another’s opinions and accept differences. There is no room for gossip, criticism, judgement, argument or comparison. Let us create a supportive and loving environment.
-
Advice is generally not offered in the group (unless solicited). The purpose of the group remains to focus on ourselves and our own recovery. Please keep to “I messages” rather than telling anyone else what they should do. With “I messages” we are only talking about our experiences and what we think. This gives everyone space to follow their own personal path of recovery without feeling any pressure or judgement from anyone else.
-
Do not monopolise the meetings. Try to limit your sharing to 5 minutes. If you want advice or discuss something in greater detail with any member, please reach out to them after the meeting.
-
Any concerns can be raised with the facilitator for the month.
Every week on Thursday
