Klonzo North and South Intermediate/Advanced

Details

Here's an intermediate/advanced Moab ride for the rest of us, not quite so hard as some of the others, about 13 miles and 700 feet; e-bikes are not allowed on this one. Last year's version of this ride was shorter, intended to be a quick ride on the way back to Denver. This time, we'll do both the north and south sides of this trail complex to get a full day's ride.

We'll start up Dunestone, with lots of fun, ledgy, confidence-builder slickrock, per the pics below. We'll do Boondocks, and then Wahoo, which gets us to the main event, Gravitron (pic above), which has a lot of everything, including three short, steeply descending ramps at the start that will definitely get your attention. Gravitron is an advanced trail, not an expert one; there are only a few spots that I have to walk. VertiGo, also blue-black, and Borderline will take us to Zoltar and the south side. There we'll do Houdini, Red Hot, and The Edge to complete the ride.

This is one of my very favorite rides in Moab, so much so that I detoured to do it on my way to Hurricane last fall. Yes, it's a long drive, about 90 miles each way from Fruita. This will be a no-drop event unless the faster riders drop me. My cell is 303-619-7486.
