FRAG trip out to visit most of the better real ale pubs in Newark on Trent.
Meet at Derby railway station at 10.45 am to catch the 10.59am train, after a change in Nottingham we will pick up a Lincoln train which is due in at Newark Castle at 11.57am. For anyone travelling via a different route meet us at Newark Castle station or in one of the first two pubs listed below.
Pubs may include the following: The Prince Rupert (unsure as it was being refurbed when we did the recce), then The Loose Cannon, The Fox and Crown, The Organ Grinder, Flying Circus and Just Beer micropub. (The Castle Barge, previously a favourite, is not included as it only had 2 beers and both were in poor condition). Most of the early pubs do food, so several options are available.
