The hike will start and end at Dartmeet Car Park, Yelverton, PL20 6SG and will cost £3 for the day.

From here we will head out to visit the following places and not necessarily in this sequence :

Yar Tor - a mountain peak approximately 420 metres above sea level with good views of Dartmoor.

River Dart - the beautiful river which meanders through Dartmeet dissecting it in half.

Venford Reservoir - an idyllic reservoir

Venford Waterfall - a picture worthy feature well worth visiting.

Combestone Tor - a mountain peak approximately 360metres above sea level.

Pixieland gift shop - one of the oldest shops in Dartmoor. The shop sells luxury sheepskin products such as rugs, gloves and hats. Hot and cold food is available. The garden is free to visit.

**----- UPDATED INFORMATiON ABOUT THIS HIKE ----- PLEASE READ -----**

This hike involves crossing quite a few rivers and streams by stepping stone.

It also involves crossing the River Dart barefoot. It is the only way to cross and the water is a foot or two deep in places. Bring a towel for drying your feet after the crossing.

We will meet in the car park at 9.30am. We will be leaving promptly at 9.45am which allows 15 minutes for latecomers. This is to make sure we have enough daylight hours.

You must be in possession of an adventurous spirit and a good level of fitness.

I am opening up this hike to more people than normal as the car park does have enough capacity. In addition, people have a tendency to change their plans at the last minute, which is fine.

Although I am the organiser for this event it is still a self-lead event and I do not take responsibility for your safety. You should be prepared for a full day of hiking and bring enough provisions for yourself in the way of food, drink and the correct choice of clothing.

If torrential rain is forecast on the day it will be postponed. I may consider light rain as acceptable and continue with the hike as planned. Please monitor the event for any updates to avoid disappointment.
