Name: Torquay to Teignmouth - Christmas Turkey Buster - (14 mile linear hike)

This hike will start at Torquay Station, Solsbro Rd, Torquay TQ2 6FD. Parking is available at the station and within close proximity to it.

We will meet at Torquay Station and hike along the South West Coastal Path to Teignmouth, finishing at Weatherspoons ( The Jolie Brise pub ) which is right next to Teignmouth Station.

We will then make our return by train from Teignmouth to Torquay which is just one stop, takes 20 minutes and will cost a few pounds.

Those not wanting to attend the pub at the end have the option of getting an earlier train back to Torquay.

We will visit the following features, in addition to many more :

Anstey’s Cove: A picturesque cove surrounded by cliffs, perfect for a rest stop and some photos

Babbacombe Downs: High cliffs with beautiful views of the ocean

Shaldon Beach: A sandy beach at the mouth of the Teign estuary which we will be walking along

Hope's Nose : Great views of Torquay from here

We will be starting earlier due to there being fewer daylight hours at this time of year, so please be prompt. We will wait for a few minutes after the start time but we cannot wait forever. Please message me if you are going to be late.

I am the organiser for this event but it is still a self-lead event and I do not take responsibility for your safety. You should be prepared for a full day of hiking and bring enough provisions for yourself in the way of food, drink and the correct choice of clothing.

If torrential rain is forecast on the day it will be postponed. I may consider light rain as acceptable and continue with the hike as planned. Please monitor the event for any updates to avoid disappointment.
