Name: Plymouth - Inner City Hike - 10 mile circular

This hike will start at Plymouth Station, PL4 6AB. Parking is available at the station and within close proximity to it.

We will meet outside Plymouth Station and hike through the city of Plymouth finishing back at the starting point.

We will visit the following places :

Central Park : a mixture of open space and woodland with lots of quirky features, well worth a stroll through

Stonehouse : home to Victorian and Georgian era buildings

Royal William Yard : a former naval site. It is now home to chic waterfront restaurants and plush residential property. Much of the original architecture is well preserved

Devil's Point : some beautiful views of Plymouth Sound (including Drake's Island)

Plymouth Hoe & park : home to the Francis Drake memorial and Plymouth light house which was originally built in the 18th Century

The Barbican : the liveliest part of Plymouth. A lot of the old architecture is beautifully preserved here with quaint cobblestone lanes interlinking bustling restaurants and bars.

OPTION -- There is the option of stopping for a fish and chips here if enough people want to do this on the day.

Harbourside Fish & Chips shop offers exceptional takeaway service. There is also a gluten free option for those wanting it.

Plymouth City Centre - we will be passing through the heart of the city which is well worth a visit.

I am the organiser for this event but it is still a self-lead event and I do not take responsibility for your safety. You should be prepared for a full day of hiking and bring enough provisions for yourself in the way of food, drink and the correct choice of clothing.

If torrential rain is forecast on the day it will be postponed. I may consider light rain as acceptable and continue with the hike as planned. Please monitor the event for any updates to avoid disappointment.
