Details
For a $5 contribution, please join me and Sarasota Art Center's exhibit coordinator, Christina, for a guided tour of the latest exhibits on display in the four galleries of the building. Payment to the Art Center will be collected at the door.
The four latest exhibitions on display until November 16 include art works by:
**E.A. KAHANE’**s exhibition is a singular New York City love story and celebration of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as told through her photographs. Kahane conveys her sense of joy, excitement and wonder, and invites the viewer to take part: “Come One, Come All, Big and Small!"
Ermin Tabakovic presents a body of work born during the Covid lockdown of 2020. The series presents mature, colorful and bold representations of his core vision which is steeped in geometric form, structural sensibility, dimensionality and the metaphysical.
Keenan Perren exhibits a new body of work using broken skateboards to create layered compositions that highlight human connection and reflect on past experiences. The work is inspired by friends and family, the skateboard community and the landscape of everyday life.
Juried Show: Trompe L’oeil
Trompe L’oeil invites artists to create work centered around ideas of illusion, perception and reality. A French phrase meaning ‘deceives the eye,' trompe l’oeil is a theme in art, generally used to describe work that creates a true-to-life depiction of a real object, scene or being. These artworks question reality and the aesthetics of realism. Trompe l’oeil forces viewers to question what they see and consider the boundary between the artist's world and our own.
