Welcome Down the Rabbit Hole! We're the Durango chapter of West Slope Technologists.
GOAL
Our goal is to facilitate a vibrant community where technology enthusiasts can come together to share knowledge, network, and stay ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving fields of computer science, software engineering, and data science. Whether you are a seasoned professional or just starting out, our meetups provide a platform for learning, collaboration, and inspiration.
WHO YOU ARE
A technologist passionate about technology. Whether you're an established data scientist, IT professional, student, or amateur enthusiast; you'll find value in our discussions. We welcome all who are eager to learn, share experiences, and contribute to our community.
WHAT WE DO
Our events will feature a mix of presentations, workshops, study groups, and networking opportunities. Here's what to expect.
Guest Speakers:
Andrew Kelleher, the organizer, will be a staple here, filling in the gaps where we don't have other speakers to keep us at a regular cadence. We will do our best to find or create interesting new talks every 4-6 weeks.
Hands-on Workshops:
Never installed a Linux dual-boot? Trying to get a local (or cloud) kubernetes cluster up and running? Want to optimize your database? We'll pick a topic and sit down as a group to do something real and practical. With individuals of almost 20 years experience in the industry things go a lot faster together than shooting in the dark.
Project Showcases:
Have something you're proud of to show-and-tell? Let us know and we'll get you on the list for lightning round meetups! Each person can present what they built, and then the group can vote on a winner. The winner will get to take home the lightning trophy until the next event.
Panel Discussions:
Engage in lively discussions with experts and peers on various tech topics. This is a Q&A of the sort you can't get on Stackoverflow.
Networking Opportunities:
We like to just hang out sometimes, too. We'll plan outings to go on hikes, climbs, rafting, skiing, and whatever other folks might be interested in.
