Discussion: UX Roles, Generalist or Specialist

The field of User Experience can sometimes be a catchall for many different skills and tasks. The day-to-day of one company’s UX designer might look like another company’s UX researcher and vice versa. For our November meetup, we’ll dive into the nuances of common UX industry roles, discussing the pros and cons of both generalist and specialist career paths.

As a loose structure for our discussion, we’ll use the IxDF article, “What are UX Roles?” which describes 6 of the most common UX job groups.

We encourage everyone to read the article before the meetup, but don’t worry if you’re short on time! Feel free to join and share from your personal experiences—or simply listen in to gain fresh insights from fellow DOUX community members.
