What we’re about
This is NOT a group for philosophers or drunkards. This is a social network for intellectuals and sapiosexuals. In fact, in our current political environment, it might be best if we focused more on connecting and having fun. Our goal is to laugh a lot of make lots of new connections.
But if you do end up in a heated discussion regarding Critical Theory or Intersectionality we have a three ground rules:
-
You always have the right to ask to have your arguments strong manned. (when the person you're arguing with has to repeat your argument back. This prevents semantic problems and creates an environment of good faith)
-
Anyone listening is encouraged to interrupt for clarification at any point. Nobody should be dominating the conversation. (Our goal is to inform and educate each other, not validate anyone's ego.)
-
All ideas are welcome. Ideas that are generally met with skepticism from most of society are welcome (flat earth, holocaust denial, critical race theory); however, this is also a group where people are welcome to be tactfully disagreeable. Don't be surprised if your idea is met with resistance.

The best part of Drunken Philosophy is waking up the next morning to ruminate on all of the great conversations from last night. Let's spend that time together, running along the Mississippi. The Franklin Avenue to Washington Street Bridge Loop runs along the central riverfront from the Franklin Avenue Bridge up to the Washington Street Bridge, with trails running along either side of the Mississippi River. We'll start and end at the Annie Young Meadow. Park along the parkway. This is a fun run at a conversational pace.
