**Dogs:** please arrange with host for walk only (not restaurant) : by prior arrangement - very well behaved dogs on a lead permitted (please keep in mind that there are numerous road crossings and some uneven ground /ledges - please speak with host if queries)

**Parking:** Frankland Lane, Durham There are several small, reasonably priced pay and display carparks nearby, (**please use pinpoint on event map for precise location**) or please park in one of the multi-stories, and walk along the river bank to meet us. Another option is to take the train - it’s a short walk from the station to the start point

**The route**: A lovely Durham City winter river walk (shorter than our usual one), which will also take in the Cathedral area

**Drink stops** (with plenty of opportunities to read notice boards and take photos!) **NO picnic lunch break** - as we will be eating afterwards and need to be hungry - portions are huge!

***There will be an hour or so between the walk and the meal, so that members can see the sights, have a few drinks, return to cars to change or whatever you’d like to do!***

**Terrain:** Mainly footpaths, but with some rugged, uneven ground in places. Could be slippery in places. Some sections walking alongside the road, as well as road crossings.

**For safety reasons dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Extra care alongside busy roads and when crossing.**
