Silent Book Club | Stille Boekenclub 📚

Do you love reading? Come to our Silent Book Club! Every first and third Sunday of the month we read together in silence and occasionally chat in Dutch about what we are reading. Reading is a great way to learn a language and very good for your mental health :)

-WHAT WILL WE DO?-
Every first and third Sunday we come together to read in company. We meet at 14:30. We do silent reading until 16:00. The last half hour, from 16:00 to 16:30, is an opportunity to talk about what you have read. We have a wide range of books available, from A0 to C2 level, so there is something for every language level!

-SCHEDULE-

• 14:30-15:00 Order a drink at the bar and find a seat. Say hello.
• 15:00-16:00 Silent reading hour. Please step outside to chat.
• 16:00-~16:30 Share book recommendations or just keep reading.

-WHAT TO BRING?-
You don’t need to bring anything! We have an extensive collection of books and magazines at different levels from A0-C2. Of course, you can also bring your own book if you prefer. It is extra fun if you read the next book club book, then you can join the next discussion day!

-READING TO LEARN!-
With reading, you can learn a lot, not only about vocabulary but also grammar. Read more about two ways to learn by reading here.

-COSTS & SIGN UP-
Participation in the Silent Book Club is €6 for non-members. Please get your ticket in advance via https://dutchlanguagecafe.com/events/silent-book-club/ The ticket includes small snacks and you can buy a cup of coffee, tea, soft drink, or cake from us.

-BECOME A MEMBER OF DLC-
Do you want to meet new people while doing hobbies you love, in Dutch? Become a member! See the membership options. You can then also join our book club where we discuss a Dutch book every 2 months!

-DUTCH LEVEL-
During the Silent Book Club, we try to speak Dutch as much as possible. We help each other, so don’t worry if your Dutch isn’t perfect yet. You are welcome to read in any language. This event is suitable for people of all language levels!
