Steve Bloom Memorial Go Tournament

Join us to celebrate the life of Steve Bloom who ran the North Oakland Go Club. The tournament will be 3-rounds, Fischer time (20m + 15s inc). Event is held partly outdoors, so please dress in layers. This is the second ever tournament jointly hosted by the North Oakland Go Club & Telegraph Go Club. If you have any questions at all, please contact the tournament director Jiaying through meetup.

Date: Sunday November 17th from 9:00am ~ 5:00pm
Location: Studio KDA in West Berkeley at 1810 Sixth St #2003, Berkeley, CA 94710 (map).
We’re going to be playing outside on the patio space so dress in layers, wear sunscreen, and bring a hat

Registration Fee:

• $20 North Oakland & Telegraph Go Chapter Members
• $15 Under 23
• $10 10 kyu ~ 30 kyu
• It is free for spectators
• Note: You must be an AGA member to register

Time settings: Fischer 20min + 15s/move

Q. My payment didn't process, am I still registered?
A. You aren't registered yet, if your payment didn't process try a different credit card or paypal.

Q. Are we going to be outside?
A. Yes, please remember to dress in layers, put on sunscreen, and bring a hat!

Q. Will there be food?
A. We’re going to provide breakfast, snacks, & drinks. For lunch you can either head to nearby 4th street to buy some food, or bring your own (there will be a microwave).

Q. Do I need to be an AGA member to play
A. Yes, since this is an AGA rated tournament you must be an AGA member to participate. Sign up using the Telegraph Go chapter code (NEWTELE) to get a 50% discount.

Schedule

• Check-in: 9:00
• Please show up on time for check-in so we can start games at 9:30 am
• Enjoy some breakfast for showing up early
• If you are not checked in by 9:20 we are going to have to remove you from the tournament.
• First game: 9:30 am
• Second game: 11:30 am
• Lunch: 1:30
• Third game: 2:30 pm
• Awards: 4:30 pm
