RAINED OUT -- NOW NOVEMBER 30TH

Members Carl and Kathleen will once again be welcoming us to a fun gathering at Carl's home in Martinez. This will take place both outdoors on the patio and indoors. Note: rain date is November 30th.

Please bring a ready-to-eat dish (include serving utensils) and/or a drink to share. You will not be able to prepare or store food in their kitchen. (Remember, you can bring whatever you like, but you must bring something to share.) We will need you to bring a folding chair and can also use bags of ice. Large folding tables are always appreciated.

As always, the address will be provided a day or 2 before the event to those on the RSVP list. (If you were on the waitlist and moved to the "going" list after the address is sent out, please contact the organizer to have the address sent to you by private message.). To respect the host's privacy, do not publish their address under Comments or Chats which can be read by those outside the group (including scammers and predators).

If you are considering the idea of offering to host a future event in your outdoor space, keep in mind that we take care of set-up and party supplies, as well as cleanup, along with many volunteers, and of course guests provide all the food and drink, as well as tables and chairs if needed. All you need do is provide the venue, some serving utensils, and trash/recycling bins. Your job is then to sit back, relax , and enjoy the party -- and your guests´ appreciation. And keep in mind the added perk: anyone who hosts a big potluck event (50 people +) at their home for this group will never need to languish on our waitlists -- you will automatically be confirmed for every big potluck event you wish to attend. How can anyone refuse such a great offer?

PLEASE NOTE: FULL VACCINATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL GUESTS.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO REQUIRED DUES TO BELONG TO THIS MEETUP GROUP. ANYONE WHO WISHES TO HELP OFFSET OUR COSTS OF RUNNING THIS GROUP (FEES AND SUPPLIES) CAN CONTRIBUTE CASH AT OUR EVENTS OR CONTRIBUTE VIA THE MEETUP PAGE, BUT THIS IS TOTALLY OPTIONAL AND WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR MEMBERSHIP.

IF YOU ARE CONFIRMED FOR AN EVENT, AND ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND, PLEASE CHANGE YOUR RSVP AS FAR IN ADVANCE AS POSSIBLE SO THAT SOMEONE ON THE WAITLIST CAN GO IN YOUR PLACE. IF YOU ARE A HABITUAL NO-SHOW (2 OR MORE), YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THIS GROUP.

IF YOU HAVE AN IDEA FOR A NEW MINI-MEETUP, PLEASE SHARE IT WITH THE OVER 60 SOCIAL GROUP ORGANIZERS. YOU WOULD NEED TO DECIDE ON A THEME, DATE AND TIME, VENUE, AND MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ATTENDEES. THEN SEND THE INFO TO US AND WE WILL POST IT TO ALL MEMBERS. WE ESPECIALLY ENCOURAGE NEWER MEMBERS TO CREATE THEIR OWN MINI-MEETUPS.
