What we’re about

Whether a window portrait in black and white or a scene of nature, if you love to take pictures, you will enjoy our new club and meeting other photographers.
Having been involved in the past in a photography club in Dalton, years ago where the media was always slides from 35 mm cameras, we will use cameras, phones, whatever device to enter digital photographs for sharing and learning.
We will concentrate on composure and lighting instead of depth of field and F stops as we did in mainly 35 mm photography. But we will learn about all types of cameras from simple point and shoot to Nikon lenes and filters.
Each week you will send in some of your photos on whatever subject would be for that week. We will display these on the big TV screen in M-5 and will discuss the strengths and weakness of the shot. Believe me, you will enjoy the discussions and we certainly will have some fun with the creativity of the subjects you choose. One assignment will be the alphabet, i.e. A-E one week with a subject for each letter, Apple, bird, car, doll, evergreen as an example. Color, black and white, filtered, you will be amazed at the ideas and creativity of the group. Field trips, speakers, fun competitions, all these will be a part of our group. We will formulate our format as we meet. I am a novice not a professional but will facilitate and hopefully make it a group you will not want to miss! If interested I will send you a membership form so we may know how many to expect. You will also be asked to send me five photos you have taken for our first meeting.Meetings will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 8645 East Brainerd Rd., Chattanooga on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. This first meeting, which will be an organizational meeting and setting the pace for each week's meeting will be August 4, 2024.
