10.5 mile Walk - The Liverpool Loop Line
Details
Meet outside Aintree rlwy stn on the A59, Liverpool L9 5BE. W3W spell.manage.hurt. Plenty of parking at Aintree rlwy stn or across the main road at the pub, gym or retail car park.
This will be a linear walk from Aintree train station to Hunts Cross train station following an old railway line around the back of Liverpool known as the Liverpool Loop Line. The railway path provides a flat, well surfaced green corridor through the urban environment of east Liverpool, & forms part of the award-winning Trans Pennine Trail. Even though you are so close to a city it feels like you're out in the countryside. The route is managed like a linear woodland park. It runs through rocky cuttings & high on embankments with wide views across the city. Passing through Fazakerley, Walton, Knotty Ash (Alderhey Childrens Hospital), Broad Green, Childwall & Gateacre. Trains from Hunts Cross back to Aintree every 15 minutes, one change at Sandhills. Takes 41 mins
Please give thought to the clothing and footwear necessary for adverse weather or ground conditions, and carry enough water and food for the day.
The leader will not see comments on Meetup, please contact Noreen Martin 07917 341148 [email protected]
