WEEKDAY WALK: A CIRCULAR WALK AROUND BEACHY HEAD (4.85 MILES)
Details
Hi all. This walk takes us up the big hill from Eastbourne to Beachy Head where we will head over the Downs and across fields, returning downhill via Whitbread Hollow. The walk is nearly 5 miles with one long steepish hill at the start, one steep hill down, and the rest is undulating. We will take the hills at a nice steady pace.
We start the walk outside the Kiosk Cafe at the foot of the hill. Drive along Eastbourne seafront to the west end and you can't miss it. There is plenty of free kerbside parking. Satnav BN20 7XL
There is an option to stop for coffee en route in the Beachy Head pub, and anyone who wants to linger at the end can enjoy refreshments in Helen Gardens or the Kiosk Cafe. There are public toilets in Helen Gardens c.300 yards from the start and more loos at Beachy Head.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome and I walk with a friendly dog called Josie. We may encounter some sheep and part of the route will be near the cliff edge.
As the weather is mixed I will confirm the walk the day before. If you are unable to attend on the day, please call or text me on 07764 677363 in case I can't access MeetUp. Thank you.
