🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 As legend would have it, St Andrew appeared in a dream to the Pictish King Angus in the 800s. In the dream, St Andrew gave him advice on the forthcoming battle of Athelstaneford against the Northumbrians. When that battle took place, the cross of St Andrew's appeared in the sky, leading to a Scottish victory.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The Scottish Government's flag-flying regulations state that the Flag of Scotland (the Saltire or Saint Andrew's Cross) shall fly on all its buildings with a flagpole. NATIONAL FLAG HERITAGE CENTRE Athelstaneford - Birthplace of Scotland's Flag.

(Free parking Tesco Long Stay Car Park)
We'll hop on the bus to Athlestaneford at 11:30am.
From here we'll spend time visiting the Flag Heritage Centre.
