Skippers Hill (Mayfield) Circular Walk
Details
The Event:
This is a rescheduled event that was cancelled a few weeks ago due to storms.
A circular walk of about 6 miles starting in Skippers Hill (west of Mayfield) and covering an area mainly north of the village. We will walk through some beautiful countryside including part of Lady Rothermere's estate. We will also walk through the grounds of a hall that once belonged to a 'princess'.
We will walk at a medium pace. We will stop and take a 20 minute break during the walk. There will not be an opportunity to purchase food along the way, so please bring a packed lunch if you wish to eat anything when we take the break.
š Sorry but this walk is not suitable for dogs.
Please note that this event is hosted by the 'Meetup' group 'East Sussex Walking'. If you are not a member of 'East Sussex Walking' but are interested in attending this event then you must apply for membership of the group, and have your application accepted, and reserved a place on the event, prior to attending it. For safeguarding reasons, members of the public who are either not a member, or a guest of a member, will not be permitted to take part in the event.
Assembly in Skippers Hill:
We will assemble at 10:45am, at the bus stop at the entrance to the village at the end of Criers Lane. Look out for the signpost directing you to Skippers Hill and the Prep School as the bus stop is next to it (see event photos).
The walk will commence at 11am sharp, or sooner if all attendees are present. Please call Norman on 07503142469 if you have any problems finding us.
Travel and Parking:
If you cannot get parked close to the assembly point, try driving along Criers Lane to the road named Queensmount which has off road parking further up.
If you need a lift to get to the event, then you may use event 'Comments' to request this, stating your whereabouts. If you are fortunate enough to be offered a lift by another member, then please offer to contribute to their costs. Do not RSVP to the event until your transport has been confirmed.
