ALHAMBRA: Family-Style Malaysian Brunch at Ipoh Kopitiam

IMPORTANT NOTE: DUE TO TOO MANY LAST-MINUTE RSVP CANCELLATIONS RECENTLY: ANYONE WHO CANCELS WITH LESS THAN 48-HOUR NOTICE, NO SHOWS, OR ARRIVES MORE THAN 10 MINUTES LATE WILL BE PLACED ON A 2-MONTH PROBATION AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND ANY EVENTS DURING THAT PROBATIONARY PERIOD.

I found the food to be decent the first time I ate here. However, there is still a queue for tables every day. So the return visit after a year and a half is to try the food again and try to figure out why people still love this place so much, even though many of my Malaysian and Singaporean friends find the food here to be disappointing.

IMPORTANT EVENT INFO:

• We will meet by the main entrance shortly before 9:45 am. The restaurant opens at 9:00 am, but we will line up early to guarantee us getting the tables we need.

• Lunch here is expected to be around $35 or more for food, any drinks you may order, tax, and at least 20% gratuity). Please bring sufficient cash (small denominations preferred) to pay for your share of the meal.

• PARKING is located in the lot inside the complex where the restaurant is. Street parking is also available. Be sure to read the street signs for any parking restrictions.
