Forest Therapy / Forest Bathing Walk with Morgan - LIMITED

Details

I will be leading a forest therapy walk in Umstead as a part of my training to become a certified forest therapy guide. Forest Therapy walks, Forest Bathing walks, or, as I like to call them, nature connection walks are gentle ways for us to connect with and build relationship the more-than-human world (a.k.a. nature). Many people have different experiences with forest therapy and forest bathing walks, usually of a positive nature. As your guide, my role is simply to create a space in which you can have your own process of connection. I wonder what your experience will be?

~ This walk is required as a part of Morgan's guide certification training. ~

"I am just the guide; the forest is the therapist." ~ Forest Therapy Guide Slogan

What to Expect
The forest therapy walk will last approximately 3 hours. We will likely not be walking more than a half of a mile. During this time, I will guide you through a series of invitations designed to help you have your own experience with connecting with nature.

What to Bring
Whatever you need to be comfortable in the woods for three hours. Chairs, water bottles, bug spray, items for warmth or rain - all are welcome.

Morgan Fleming
Morgan is current student with the Association for Nature and Forest Therapy, pursuing his certifications as a forest therapy guide. He is just a guide; the forest is the therapist. Morgan is also the founder and lead organizer of Ecology Club events.

Time and Duration
We'll meet at 1 PM (aim to arrive early) and get started shortly after. The complete session will last about 3 hours.

Umstead at Harrison Ave
We will meet at the Harrison Ave entrance to Umstead near the bathrooms. From there, we will walk a short distance to the place where much of the forest therapy session will take place.

Free
This event is free. However, priority participation will be given to members who regularly attend the Sunday walks. The walk on November 16th is ticketed and open to everyone.

Weather
"We hike rain or shine, but not lightening and thunder."

Priority Participants
Priority will be given to members who regularly attend Sunday walks. I reserve the right to remove you from the event or wait-list you in order to free up space for regular Ecology Club participants. The walk on November 16th is ticketed and open to everyone.
