Hi guys,
So this Saturday the 21st of September I’m planning a Munro hike (Scottish mountain over 3000 feet) from Blair Atholl, a small town near Pitlochry. The name of the mountain is Carn a’Chlamain and is 1020m high. The path follows along the river Tilt and Glen Tilt, one of the film locations for the Star Wars series Andor.
The recommended walking time is between 7-9 hours, although we should make it in under 8 according to Maps.me.
The weather is forecasted to be good on the day.

It will be an early start, meeting at 6:00am in front of the Scott Monument on Prince’s Street, before walking to the train station and taking the 6:32am train. We’ll be arriving in Blair Atholl just before 9:00am and taking the 5:20pm train back, giving us just over 8 hours walk time. The train arrives back in Edinburgh just before 8:00pm.
(If we do need more time, there’s an option of taking a bus to Pitlochry and a train at 7:00pm).
The hike will require a reasonably high level of fitness. You can see more details on this link:

I highly recommend downloading Maps.me, which is a GPS positioning hiking map: Maps.me

Please remember to wear decent shoes, bring a warm/ rain jacket and plenty food and water.

Don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

I look forward to seeing you on Saturday! - Myles

As you might know, I wrote a epic fantasy novel named

I also have signed copies available (ask at the meeting).
