A 13 mile mainly flat walk. C+ (630ft)
Reasonably Paced.

We start by walking through Callander park before a short road walk to Helix park and the famous Kelpies.
A short Coffee break will be taken here
(cafe and toilets available) .

Then we the walk along the QE2 canal towpath past the Rosebank distillery to the Famous Falkirk Wheel.

Lunch will be taken here
(Cafe and toilets available), hopefully we will be there in time to watch the 1:10pm boat departure on the wheel.

We then will the go up above the wheel and through The colourfull Roughcastle Tunnel and up past the locks to join the Union canal towpath, eventually going through the rather damp Falkirk Tunnel to return to Falkirk High Station.

Walk is mainly on towpaths, footpaths through callander park which are leafy and pavements.

Dogs on short leads (not flexi) welcome.

We will start promptly at 9.45am, so please let us know if you're held up or unable to walk by messaging the MU site.
