THE positive feedback given to the 10-bridges event in Glasgow back in January has prompted this sequel which goes several steps further – by increasing the number of Clyde crossings by half as much again to 15.

Another difference is that this route will take the opposite direction from last time - i.e. downstream. Therefore, it will start with the footbridge linking the former Commonwealth Games village with Cuninger Woodland, an urban forest created on reclaimed industrial land; and concludes with the new swing bridge linking the Museum of Transport/Tall Ship and Govan, which opened two months ago. Route length is approximately nine miles.

Meet up point (10.45 sharp) is under the canopy at the main entrance to Central Station on Gordon Street from where we’ll take the short train ride to the start point. Return from the end point to the city centre either by bus, subway or Shanks's pony (three miles).

Suggested outward transport from Edinburgh. 1. Citylink 900 coach, leaving St Andrew Sq at 09.00 (09.20/09.25 from Maybury or Ratho Station if you want to park and ride) and arriving Buchanan at 10.25. 2. The 09.30/09.35 train from Waverley/Haymarket to Queen Street. It’s a 7- or 12-minute walk to Central Station depending if you travel from Edinburgh by rail or bus.
