What we’re about
Beginners to Professional, this group is for music producers of all types to get together and share our music, ideas, knowledge, etc and get feedback and grow. Non-electronic music producers are welcome, as they also use DAWs, effects, etc. The plan to begin with will be to run a monthly meetup at mine where fellow producers bring along their song they are working on to play through the sound system. They talk about their song and get feedback from the group. Dicuss improvements, likes/dislikes, etc.
We would also have show and tell where different members bring along their hardware or show some software to the group and discuss the features and how it works. We could look at various hardware such as synths, drum machines, sequencers, etc. DIY projects such as synth or effect builds, sound design, eurorack modules. Software such as DAWs, VSTs samples.
To begin with Meetups will be held at my place in Auchenflower which can comfortably fit 10 people with 3 large couches, chairs and a large TV. The stereo system in the entertainment room is standard surround sound so no studio monitors sadly for playing music. There's tables and an open area in front of the couches to setup hardware, etc. There's also a kitchen with tea and coffee and bathroom. Smokers outside but I do vape inside.
Other ideas for events would include field recording, live gigs, guest speakers, live jams, software tutorials, discussions and watching vidoes & documentaries. Also Daw lessons for beginners who want to learn how to make electronic music.
As for myself, I have a small home studio. I mainly upload my music to YouTube and have a 30k sunscriber channel (mainly known for music) but aren't as active atm as I was. I make electronic music using Reason+ using some VSTs, as well as hardware. I have made parody, italo disco, synthwave and currently make techno and ambient music. I also have some DIY projects, making synths, effects and starting to create samplers, sequencers and horror/ambient noise making machines. I'm planning to make my own semi-modular rack that woukd then incoproate virtual rack and eurorack modules.
Join today even if you are just starting out. Answer the questions and come along. Feel free to ask us any questions you may have or tell us about your ideas and how you can help. If there is an event that you would like to run yourself then just let me know.
