Let’s explore the history, science, engineering and available technologies in audio reproduction, including signal sources, amplifiers, speakers and headphones that enable live music, or as close as possible at home.
I do not want to use the word audiophile, because I believe there is sufficient science to explain everything in audio reproduction, and the word has a long history of association with non-fact based, non-science based, and a lot of times just false opinions, and has cost a lot of people dearly without much in return.
I believe excellent audio reproduction at home is possible, with reasonable cost. By saying excellent audio, I mean it resolves a few long standing problems, namely harshness, fatiguing, lacking bass and power.
