What we’re about
I started this group to find other African Americans who want more outdoor adventures such as hiking, zip lining, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, bike riding, sailing, hot air balloon rides, bi-plane rides, overnight camp outs, weekend getaways and more. The purpose is to bring together men and women who want to escape the daily humdrum and replace it with some fun, excitement and sometimes new and challenging experiences that are exhilarating, leaving you with lifetime memories. Our adventures will also help build your confidence, help you get or stay fit and healthy, all with a group of friendly and supportive people. 2055 Lower Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30068Please bring three tennis balls (a new can would be nice and I suggest writing your name in marker on them). If you can't bring any tennis balls that is fine, I have a bunch of new ones.
Please bring your own tennis racquet, tennis shoes, wear sporty clothing, bring a towel, A LOT of water, A LOT of ice. I will also have you all running. If you hit the ball into the net you will have to get the ball and pass it along to your partner and then run back to the base line within five seconds. I will tell you what the base line is. No more than TWO bounces to hit the ball, if you let it bounce three or more times then you have to do five push ups & run and get all the other balls that are around the court :) Sweat it out!!!!

For this Special Virtual Documentary Night, in honor of Native American Heritage Month, we are meeting to talk about the documentary WARRIOR: The Life of Leonard Peltier. This is the definitive feature documentary about American Indian activist, Leonard Peltier. His story is told within the context of the American Indian Movement, the US federal government, and the multi national companies interested in mining the land in South Dakota. Suzie Baer (Director, Producer) and Jeanne Roach (Co-Director of the International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee) will be joining us for a special guest Q&A! Again, you must watch the film on your BEFORE the event. We will be meeting over Zoom, where we will break out into small discussion groups. We will do multiple rounds of small group discussion, then close out the night with a special guest Q&A! The Zoom information is listed below.

This event is posted in multiple meetup groups, and on Eventbrite, as well as with members of the Community Documentary Night email list. (Message me if interested in joining the email list) Therefore, THIS RSVP LIST IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE ATTENDING THE EVENT. So even if you only see one person RSVPed in this meetup group, there will always be others in attendance from other groups. We tend to have at least 20 on average. By inviting numerous groups that increases the likelihood that those in attendance will be from varying backgrounds and beliefs. This is done purposefully to provide everyone with the opportunity to hear a wide range of perspectives.
This event is open to all who are open to all. The one thing we ask is that people allow others to get their full thought out and that any disagreement is voiced in a civil way.
