Starting in the lovely village of Great Missenden, this walk takes us west into the beautiful Chiltern Hills, a classic example of the British countryside. We’ll wander through rolling fields, peaceful woodlands, and quiet valleys, where the landscape shifts from open farmland to shaded forest paths.The countryside here is rich with wildlife and the changing seasons bring a variety of colours. Along the way, we’ll pass by quaint hamlets and follow hedgerow-lined tracks, giving us a real sense of rural England’s charm. It’s a perfect route for anyone looking to escape into nature and enjoy the beauty of the Chilterns. The overall elevation is not to high but there are a couple of short steep ascents along the way.

Since we'll be walking through woodland with nettles and a potential for tick bites, consider wearing trousers or leggings.

This is a great walk with plenty to see. We start at Rickmansworth Aquadrome car park, before heading into the woodlands of the colne valley. We will circumvent Ruislip Lido (water is currently closed) where we will walk on the “beach” before heading into Ruislip Wood nature reserve. We head out into open country side briefly before our next wood, Mad Bess Wood (great name!) and then Bayhurst wood countryside park. The next part of the walk is more open, fields, rural areas with the last section of this walk alongside the grand union canal.Meeting point:

This walk takes us through the beautiful Woburn Park in Befordshire. The park includes tranquil ponds, pretty Orchards and a 3000 acre deer park. There's also the splendid Woburn Abbey - a stunning country house which is the seat of the Duke of Bedford.The deer park is home to Red, fallow, Pere David’s, barasingha, muntjac, Manchurian sika, rusa, axis & Chinese water deer We will also be walking through Apsley Heath - 800 acre stunning woodland with Sandy paths, is a mixture of conifer woodland with some areas of semi-ancient woodland and heathland
Please be advised, the deer are not fenced off and are free to rome. We will keep to the footpaths and maintain distance from the deer. It is important that EVERYONE in the Park follows all safety signage whilst on site.

Distance: 16 km | Walking Time: 4.5-5 hrs | Ascent: 80 metres | Grade: Easy/MediumWe’ll kick off our adventure in the town of Brandon, near Thetford Forest. This 16 km walk takes us through towering pines and firs, with a route that meanders by the historical village of Santon Downham and past Grimes Graves, a Neolithic flint mining site. We’ll follow sections of the peaceful Little Ouse River, where the sense of wilderness surrounds us. With minimal inclines, this moderate walk is a perfect introduction to the weekend, giving you time to reconnect with nature and enjoy the serenity of the forest.
After our hike, we'll head to King's Lynn to check into our cosy accommodation and prepare for the evening.

Our 14 km route follows the coastal path from Old Hunstanton to Holme-next-the-Sea, described as one of Britain’s wildest stretches of beach.
Along the way, we’ll walk through sand dunes and vast stretches of golden shoreline. It’s a haven for winter bird migrations—look out for species like pink-footed geese, snow buntings, and long-tailed ducks. This peaceful hike is the perfect way to start the new year with fresh sea air and invigorating views.Accommodation:

As we approach the ancient Neolithic long barrow of Belas Knap, you'll have the opportunity to feel part of the history and legends of this mystical site.
This 14.5 km walk, with its gentle inclines, is the perfect way to ease into the weekend, allowing you to reconnect with nature and yourself. After our hike, we'll head into the heart of Cirencester where we will check in to our accommodation and then out to enjoy a well-deserved meal at a local restaurant or pub. Our path leads us through the tranquil hamlets of Ablington and Winson, where you’ll discover hidden gems like quaint bridges over crystal-clear streams and idyllic countryside vistas.Accommodation:
After our day’s adventure, we’ll head to a welcoming and modern hostel located in the heart of Cirencester. We’ll meet at 1 pm for our first hike at Stanage Edge.
Famous for its dramatic gritstone cliffs and sweeping views, Stanage Edge is an absolute must for anyone visiting the Peak District.This easy-to-medium grade hike will introduce you to the area's wild beauty, with vast moorlands and open skies setting the tone for the weekend ahead.
Distance: 5 miles / 8km
Time: 2.5-3 hours walking
Ascent: 280 meters
Terrain: Hill & Moorland
Grade: Easy/ MediumAfterwards, we’ll check into our accommodation, where you can relax and settle in before joining us for dinner at a local pub.
Saturday
After breakfast, we’ll head out for one of the Peak District’s most iconic walks—the summit of Mam Tor via Lose Hill. This ridge walk is a real highlight, offering incredible panoramic views that stretch far and wide.
The paths are challenging yet rewarding with stunning views when we reach the summit.Distance: 9.5 miles / 15 km
Time: 5-6 hours walking
Ascent: 510 meters
Terrain: Hill & Moorland
Grade: Medium/ HardSunday
The Roaches and Lud Church. The Roaches, with its dramatic rock formations and rugged beauty, offers a different vibe from our earlier hikes. We’ll also explore Lud Church, a mystical, moss-covered chasm steeped in legend.
This is the most challenging hike of the weekend, but the effort will be more than worth it as we take in the stunning scenery and enjoy the sense of accomplishment.Distance: 10.5 miles / 17 km
Time: 6-7 hours walking
Ascent: 704 meters
Terrain: Hill & Moorland
Grade: HardIn the evening, we’ll gather for a well-earned dinner for our final night in the local area.
Monday
Our last adventure takes us to Thor’s Cave and the Manifold Valley, a peaceful and enchanting area that will give us a lovely final taste of the Peak District. Thor’s Cave, perched high in the hillside, offers an unforgettable view of the valley below.
This medium-grade hike is the perfect way to finish off the weekend.Distance: 7 miles / 11 km
Time: 4 hours walking
Ascent: 426 meters

After the hike, we’ll say our goodbyes and begin the journey home.Accommodation
