Mahjong in Palo Alto

Welcome MahJong Players,

We meet every Tuesday morning in a private home in downtown Palo Alto from 10AM to 1:30PM. We play inside or outside depending on weather. There are 3 tables available for play. When more than 4 players come, we rotate in, play three person MahJongg or Siamese. We play with small change for points on card.

Attendees already know how to play and we do not teach MahJong. Please understand that every play in the game requires thought and immediate reevaluation from all players, so we cannot teach the game. To learn to play check out books, apps and videos online. The Beginner's Guide to American MahJongg by Elaine Sandberg is highly recommended for beginners. For personal instruction contact Christine Blackford for private or group classes. Please RSVP for accurate headcount. Bring a snack to share (optional) and a MahJong set if you have one. Street parking available at 10am (after street cleaning). All day parking free with parking permit. There are free parking permits on front porch for loan to first 5 who arrive. Otherwise parking free for 2 hours in zone 1 and then you will need to move your car 1/2 block to zone 2. Parking is easy after you do it the first time.
