Nieuwe Japanse Taalclub in Amstelveen

Details

Kon-nichi-wa, Mina-san!

It’s been half a year since I moved out of Amstelveen for Den Haag, and it’s been two weeks since I left the Netherlands in October to return to Japan for good!

Despite this, we’ve managed to keep the community alive and the Japanse Taalclub going. A big thanks to the fellow organisers who host them in turns weekly. How amazing it is!

I have no idea where this will take our community in the future, but I’m sure we still have the potential to make it even more enjoyable for others to join. So let’s keep it just going and see what waits for us. :)

Here are the November events:

Week 1 Saturday the 2nd (host: Nikola)
Week 2 Saturday the 9th (host: Tom)
Week 3 Saturday, 16th (host: Evgeniia)
Week 4 Saturday, the 23rd (host: Maryam)
Week 5 Saturday the 30th (host: Niels and Asami)

Some hosts will see you just after their trip to Japan. So you’ll have some stories to hear from them. :)

I hope you all enjoy your Japanese practice and seeing the familiar and new faces in Amstelveen.

Best,
Goro, the organiser

[The Introduction from Goro (April 2024)]

I am glad to renew our regular Saturday event, Japanse Taalclub in Amstelveen, this April. I've been doing this weekly social meet-up since 2021. From a small group of a few people, we kept growing and recently have more than 15 people every week, thanks to the loyal regulars and the help of Cobra Museum Cafe.

It's time for us to move on to the new phase. As the founder and the only organiser, Goro will leave Amstelveen; we formed a new organisers team to keep the wonderful community alive as it has been. We'll keep the event happening every week. Instead of Goro, each new organiser will take on the host role. They'll offer more activities and games than the previous single-host events, which may be one advantage of the new operation.

Our meet-up events also attract Japanese native speakers, especially new residents in the country. Even first-timer Japanese attendees feel safer and more comfortable in the friendly atmosphere and would be happy to help you improve your Japanese skills. There's no requirement for Japanese skills to join us. Drop in and say hi (Konnichiwa!, if possible). Everyone who finds those below familiar is welcome:

— I want to learn Japanese at any level.
— I am thinking of visiting Japan sometime. I'm Interested in the cultures.
— I want to see new people with similar interests.
— I want to share my experiences in Japan.
— I want to try to speak Japanese to native speakers.

We're looking forward to seeing you in Amstelveen. :)

Best,
Goro, the founder organiser.
