Continuing to mine Bent Creek . . .

Details

. . . and among all the rubble I've found an autumn gem.

NOTE CHANGE OF DATE TO MONDAY

This is a lollipop. Starting at the parking lot for the Explorer Loop trailhead, we'll cross Bent Creek Gap Road and connect with the Sidehill trails. Laurel Branch Road connects the lower trails with the upper trail. Then Little Hickory Top trail to Boyd Branch trail back to the Lower Sidehill and Connector trails to complete the loop.

Very nice autumn views along the upper trails. A plethora of creeks and several rock-hop stream crossing. A lot of up and down--an undulating route. Some portion rockier than others. Pole are a consideration.

Stats:
Distance: just under 6 miles
Pace: approx. 2 1/4 mph
Ascent: 700 feet per Gaia

Parking is limited. It's 2 miles down the dirt road from Ledford Branch parking lot, where I will be at 8:45 (look for the silver Taco) if anyone want to carpool or follow me. Not a bad idea.
