It's time to roll out our plans for year 4 of our tradition of sharing Thanksgiving together as a community! We plan to once again have a potluck with a side dish of board games, karaoke, etc.

To best prepare, we will close RSVPs at noon on the day of the event. Dropping out after that point may yield a "no show" designation. Don't be that person. Be resolute and communicative.
A couple of other frequently answered answers:
-Food you bring can be American or Asian or both. We like variety and creativity. If you know Peter Chang and can bring him, we like that too.
-We often have a lot of desserts, so if you're lost on what to bring, donating money ahead of time is usually better than a cheap container of cookies or similar item. Fruitcake is right out.
-Planning to prepare food at Vine Church is sort of a no go. Even finding places to plug in slow cookers will be a challenge. It's best to make the food elsewhere and then bring it. Exceptions can be made for anyone who is skilled at carving a Peking duck tableside.
-We will have at least one mahjong and one Go set, but bringing other board games is also encouraged. Ouija is not an acceptable board game.
-Karaoke is with YouTube and a real sound system. Holiday songs are super welcome. Songs that may offend people are less welcome. Dancing that may offend people......just make us laugh.This event will be crossposted with our friends at Young Asians Social (https://4142298.xyz/Young-Asians-Social-Meetup), so that we can be one big family together. Please only sign up in one of the two groups to help keep numbers accurate.

This Christmas season, let's continue some of our volunteerism efforts by gathering to assemble gift-filled shoeboxes for children in need around the world! We're setting up enough slots for a group to volunteer, so all we need from you if you are committed is to click on the link below and fill out some personal information that will register you in their system:

We're trying as best we can to get a full group of committed people, so please consider your RSVP carefully, especially if there are people on the waitlist. We would also ask that you confirm on the message board that you have registered and stay tuned for any further updates or correspondence about this event.
We will probably try to meet for dinner in the area around 5 PM before we go to serve for anyone interested, but we'll put that together closer to the date.
