Welcome! The purpose of this group is for atheists, agnostics, nonbelievers, and questioning people to get together and have fun, interesting discussions in a nontheist environment. Even though Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jackson, Michigan, are where the co-organizers live, the group is open to you wherever you may be.
We usually meet the fourth Saturday of the month from 11 AM-12:30 PM Eastern. The leaders are Tre G. (Indianapolis, IN) and Anthony O. (Jackson, MI). We are also on Facebook under the same name. We welcome everyone regardless of race, color, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, size, or veteran status. Come join us!

Details on our 11/17/24 move to Facebook:
Our group is moving entirely from Meetup.com to Facebook on November 17, 2024. Up to now, we have been posting the same event information on both Meetup and Facebook. However, Meetup is hiking their organizer fees up to $179 every 6 months, which is over $350 per year. We feel that this is pretty steep, especially since Meetup has not added enough value to the platform yet to justify the price hike.
Members of the group have donated enough to cover some of the past organizer fees - thank you so much for your generosity! - but we are not interested in continually asking for you all to donate to us. Tre and I created this group in order to focus on discussing topics of interest to secular people, and fundraising is not part of our mission. Some organizers elect to require dues, but we are not choosing that route because we want everyone to be able to access the group regardless of income.
We hope that you will choose to move to Facebook with us by November 17, 2024. The Facebook group is private, so people can't see who is in the group or what is posted. Here is the link to the Facebook group so you can request to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/atheistsagnosticsplus. In order for your membership request to be accepted, you need a profile photo so that we know you are not a bot.
