Ballroom / Social Dance Meetup - NY Capital Region

In this class, you will learn a few basic figures and patterns of the East Coast Swing. We'll also spend time on posture, dance frame, lead and follow, and dance floor etiquette.

This class is designed for those with no previous social dancing experience. There will be plenty of time for repetition and practice for each new step or technique introduced.

No partner needed!
The cost is $10 per person per class.

Directions

The space in a brown brick buillding. As you're facing it, there is a green brick building to the right, and Lincoln Ave is to the left.

From I-90:
East bound, exit 5, right onto Everett Rd
West bound, exit 5, left onto Everett Rd

Follow Everett to Central and turn right.
Get into the left lane as soon as possible.
Follow to Central to Colvin and take left.
Colvin is just past the Hannaford on left.
The green brick building will be first on the right

From Washington Ave Ext:
Turn right into Colvin.
Lincoln Ave will be first on the left.

Turn into the driveway between the two buildings. There is ample parking in the rear.
Enter the brown building in the back from the parking lot.
Turn left and go through the door that says Push Fitness.
Turn right down the corridor.
There are bathrooms on the right.
103 is on the left just past the bathrooms.

Absolute Beginner Line Dancing

If you’ve never had a line dance lesson before and would like to learn from scratch in a slow and easy format, join us! Just let us know that it is your first lesson or that you are super new and we’ll make sure you leave with a new dance or two to dance at home!

We’re starting up our line dance lessons on Wednesday, Oct 9 at 7 pm.
Please let us know you're coming. We have limited space!

$10 for a 1 hour lesson
Absolute Beginner Line Dance Lessons- a mix of music genres
If this group gets too advanced, I’ll get another time slot to start a new group from scratch.

Absolute Beginner Line Dance Lessons
Starting on Thursday, November 14, 2024
10 am- 11 am

We'll start at the very beginning of line dancing.
Participants will learn the basic line dance steps in a sequence that makes it easier for beginners.

The music will be from various genres! Pop, Country, and more!

$10 per lesson or $40 for 5 lessons - November and December
Nov 14, 21, Dec 5, 12, 19

Join us at the Rotterdam Senior Center for ages 55+. No membership fee. Seniors from surrounding communities are welcome to join us.
