Saturday Morning Book Club Guidelines
These guidelines apply to the Book Club events run on Bath Social Group by Dave on Saturday Mornings. Other Bath Social Group members are welcome to set up other book club events of their own on the Group if they wish to do so and can choose to follow these guidelines or create their own if they prefer a different format.

1. This Book Club is a friendly informal gathering. Different views are welcome but please ensure you give others the opportunity to speak and treat others with respect.

2. If you are only part way through the book by the time of the meeting you are still welcome to attend but bear in mind there may be spoilers!

3. Whilst you do not have to have finished the book to attend, it is expected that you will have read enough of it to be able to make some contribution to the discussion, as the event is a book discussion group not simply a social gathering!

4. Books to be discussed are expected to be 21st century works of fiction available for purchase in paperback form (though participants can of course choose to read them in another format if they prefer). Ideally the book should not be too long (preferably less than 400 pages).

5. Suggestions for books to discuss are welcome and the aim of the Book Club will be to allow different members the opportunity to put forward suggestions.

6. The aim is for this Book Club to run monthly usually on a Saturday morning but with a break for December when people tend to become occupied by Christmas preparations.
