What we’re about
Bay Area House Concerts is where hosts, performers and lovers of live music connect to make magic happen. The events posted here are unique "listening room" opportunities, each of which is organized slightly differently but always in an intimate setting.
Note these are limited capacity concerts so each RSVP matters, If a host has confirmed they are expecting you, and agreed to let you "pay at the door," it is never okay to no-show without making the expected financial contribution.
If you are not yet a co-organizer but host house concerts and would like to post your events here, please contact our lead organizer (Winter Williams) directly to discuss contributing to the shared cost of maintaining this Meetup group,

We are sad the season is coming to a close, but David Jacobs-Strain & Bob Beach's show with us on Friday 11/15 @ 7pm will be the perfect exclamation on a wonderful third year of backyard shows here. There are still some tickets left for the show, but word is getting out and we want YOU to join us and reserve your tickets to do so right about now. See you so soon.
These two have been making music together for years, and they only get tighter and tighter every time. If you don't already know about David and Bob's magic together, join us for a gorgeous fall evening of music in Cole Valley.
David Jacob-Strain is a striking slide guitar player and song poet from Eugene, Oregon. His deep love of blues and roots music is evident in every one of the songs he writes. He studied masters like Robert Johnson, Taj Mahal and Jackson Browne, but plays his own sound, his own song, with a virtuosity that is uniquely his. David began playing on street corners and at farmers markets as a teenager, and bought his first steel guitar with the quarters he saved up. Before he dropped out of Stanford to play full time, he had already appeared at festivals across the country, often billed as a blues prodigy, but he had to fight to avoid being a novelty act. Bob Beach plays harmonica with calm fierceness. A mouth-harp maestro who swaggers into a solo like The Marlboro Man, then quietly leaves the set while the rest of us wonder what just happened and how such a tiny instrument could possibly sound like that.
Clicking the "Get Tickets" button will direct you to PayPal. Please send $30 per person in your party (using "Send to a Friend" to avoid fees) to [email protected], or @eitvconcerts and include Your Name, Show Date & Your Email Address in the note. @dan-foldes on Venmo also works, but don't forget to include your email address with payment. 100% of the proceeds collected will go to the band. If PayPal or Venmo don't work for you, send us an email. If cost is a barrier to you attending, please reach out to us via email and we will work out a suitable donation amount. All ticket sales are final, and we do have an indoor rain venue secured for this show if needed.

Suzy Thompson is a “musician’s musician” who plays fiddle and guitar alongside artists like Jim Kweskin, Geoff Muldaur, Del Rey, Ann Savoy, etc.
Her repertoire includes blues, Cajun and Old Time material. Suzy will also perform material from her upcoming “Suzy Sings Siebel” project, an album of songs by the great 70s singer-songwriter Paul Siebel (“Louise” is his most famous song.)
Suzy’s long musical journey dates from touring with British singer Frankie Armstrong when she was still in her teens. In her 20s, she was a founding member of Any Old Time String Band (their Arhoolie album is still in print) and Blue Flame String Band (highly regarded recording on Flying Fish). She has performed and recorded with banjo players Mac Benford (Backwoods Band) and Bill Evans (Bluegrass Intentions) and Cajun accordion legend Danny Poullard (California Cajun Orchestra, 2 award winning albums). More recent years have seen a landmark blues album with the Texas Sheiks (Geoff Muldaur, Jim Kweskin, Cindy Cashdollar et al), duets with resonator ukulele and guitar goddess Del Rey, and a recent collaboration with Cajun superstar Ann Savoy. Suzy also has recorded with Kathy Kallick and Laurie Lewis, Maria Muldaur, Country Joe McDonald, Darol Anger, Jody Stecher & Kate Brislin, Mary Flower, Alan Senauke, etc.
