- Uke In The Afternoon, #257 (in person)Robbins Library, Arlington, MA
[The 4-th edition of the songbook has arrived !]
[I have not yet found a way to list a Meetup as both in person and online without paying additional fees, so I will be listing it twice, once in person and once online. Please register for the appropriate component.]
Uke In The Afternoon: An afternoon ukulele Meetup, meeting on the 1-st, 3-rd, & 5-th Wednesday of the month.
The jam is for players of traditional (that is, wood) four string soprano, concert, tenor, or baritone ukuleles. (No other instruments. please. They stick out and interfere with my desire to have us all sound like one big instrument.)
After many years, it's time to update the songbook. And that time has come!

Clicking on a song title in the Table of Contents takes you to the song sheet. Clicking on "to ToC" in the upper right hand corner of the page returns you to the Table of Contents.
You know the drill, We're seated in a circle. We go around the room with each person in turn choosing a song from the book to lead. Ten minute break half-way through. Play 'till about 2:50. I hope to see you there!
Parking lots behind the Library, across Mass Ave, diagonally across Mass Ave. They ticket! Also, some metered and unmetered on street parking.

These details are specifically about the online version, which exists thanks to a request from Betty from Kentucky.
As of now, there is now an online component to UitA for those unable to attend in person who would like to play along. It is limited in scope. A Zoom link will allow a participant to act like a fly one the wall, able to observe but not interact with those in the room, However, participants can interact with each other!
In order avoid disruption:
* There will be a Waiting Room.
* Admission to (and ejection from!) the session is entirely at the discretion of the co-host.
* If there is no co-host, the Waiting Room will be checked at 1 pm and one other time later if I can remember to do it.
* A laptop will be placed on on one of the chairs in the circle. Those participating in person will see a grid of online participants. Online participants will see whatever portion of the circle that the camera sees.
* Online participants will be muted in the live session by having the laptop's speaker muted, but they will be able to interact with each other as in any other Zoom session. Miscreants will quickly learn about the co-host's skill at Whack-A-Mole! :-)
